The reserve borders Botswana and is in Northwest Province, South Africa, 90km north of Zeerust, about 3.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg. It is easily accessible from O.R. Tambo Airport, Johannesburg. A smaller aircraft flight directly to Madikwe is available. Madikwe Game Reserve is one of the few wildlife reserves in Southern Africa that is malaria free.
